Mining images in the top masthead were extracted from the large mural that hung on the outside of the Legal Tender Restaurant in Clancy for many years.
This painting was recently donated to the museum by Shelly Jones, a former restaurant owner. It was commissioned by an earlier restaurant owner.
Following proper preservation procedures, it will likely be erected outside the museum. (It's an excellent representation of Jefferson Counties' 1860s gold rush.)
