RANCHING in Jefferson County

The ranching exhibit features artifacts and photos related to ranches, cowboys, and rodeos in our county.

Special Features:
Ranch Artifacts
Various ranch artifacts are on display from the Dahl Ranch (Warm Springs Creek, Clancy); the Carlson Ranch (Bernice/Basin); the Marks Ranch (Lump Gulch, Clancy) and others. On permanent display is a model of the Marks barn, built and donated to the museum by Bob Marks.

Woolly Chaps
One special artifact includes authentic woolly chaps, popularly used by cowboys during the colder winter months. These chaps were owned by the late Mike Quinn, Boulder Valley rancher and rodeo stock provider. He lived on Highway 69, between Boulder and Whitehall, near the Catholic Church. (photo)

Cowboy Photos
We have a temporary traveling exhibit of prints depicting cowboys of the west. (ends soon)
Thanks to the ranching families that generously loaned us their ranch artifacts for this exhibit!
~
Kudos to Sherry Carlson (JC Museum volunteer) for her assistance with our current exhibits.
